Immediate Discontinuation of Felipe Nipper’s Apps in the EU Market

 

Dear Valued Users,

I hope this message finds you well. Today, I must share a significant update regarding my applications available in the European Union (EU).  After extensive deliberation and with a heavy heart, I have made the decision to immediately remove all my applications from sale within the EU markets. This decision also includes the discontinuation of all in-app purchases, in compliance with Apple's policies, and is effective immediately.

 

This difficult decision arises from the recent implementation of the Digital Markets Act (DMA) by the EU. The DMA introduces a comprehensive set of regulations aimed at ensuring fair competition and curbing the market dominance of large digital platforms. While the objectives of the DMA are commendable, the specific restrictions and obligations it imposes have created unsustainable operational challenges for me as an independent software developer. These challenges significantly impede my ability to maintain the high standard of quality and service to which I am committed.

 

Adapting to these regulations, while continuing to innovate and support my applications at the level you expect, is not feasible under the current circumstances as an independent software developer. I make this transition with a sense of responsibility towards maintaining the integrity of my work.

 

Please be assured that this cessation of sales and in-app purchases in the EU will be conducted without prejudice to existing users. I am committed to providing support and guidance during this transition, ensuring a smooth and equitable process for everyone involved.

 

To my users in the EU, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your support and understanding. It has been a privilege to serve you, and making this decision has been incredibly difficult. I remain hopeful that future regulatory changes may allow me to once again offer my applications to you.
